MICHIGAN SCHOOLS CAN WIN A SPOT ON THE MILK MEANS MORE JUMP WITH JILL LIVE TOUR
Nationally-acclaimed rock & roll nutrition show tours Michigan in support of health, community, and environment
Okemos, MI, December 12, 2014 – In support of Milk Means More, the rock & roll nutrition show Jump with Jill will be provided at no cost to 35 schools across Michigan this spring. Schools can enter to win a spot on the tour by submitting an entry at jumpwithjill.com/win. For Michigan schools to be eligible for this engaging educational experience, schools must be elementary level, be new to Jump with Jill, and be willing to sign up for the completely free Fuel Up to Play 60 program. Awards are rolling, so schools considering entering should stop reading this and submit their entry now.
“Not only is milk a high quality protein and nutrient source, it is one of Michigan’s leading agricultural products, generating nearly 40,000 jobs,” says the star of the Midwest Jump with Jill Cast, Laura Brown, MS, RD. “It’s so fun to sing about a food that is healthy for our bodies, our communities, and our environment.”
Winning schools not only get a rockin’ live performance but also receive Jump with Jill educational materials including a CD of Jump with Jill music and DVDs of danceable music videos including a rap about calcium, The Bone Rap, and a Latin tune about breakfast, Get Me Goin’. This is all thanks to the generosity of Michigan’s own dairy farmers and milk processors and the wonderful folks at the United Dairy Industry of Michigan (UDIM).
“We are dedicated to being a source of information on dairy foods and Michigan dairy farming,” said Sharon Toth, CEO of United Dairy Industry of Michigan. “The Milk Means More brand captures the impact Michigan’s dairy industry has throughout our state, from providing nutritious and wholesome foods, to jobs in our communities. We are so proud to partner with Jump with Jill to take this message to Michigan kids.”

Meet the Michigan Cast:
Laura Brown, MS, RD
Laura Brown, MS, RD stars as “Jill” in the Midwest Cast of the Jump with Jill show. A proud Michigan State graduate, Laura is the first Jill with the same credentials as creator Jill Jayne. Another singing dietitian? It’s too good to be true. Laura is a graduate of Miami University of Ohio with a BS in Kinesiology and Health. After graduating college, she became a Registered Dietitian and obtained her MS in Exercise Physiology from Michigan State University. Laura came to Jump with Jill after several years teaching at a school-based health clinic as a clinical dietitian, providing nutrition counseling to middle and high school students. Laura’s theatrical experience began when she attended a performing arts high school, where she majored in vocal music and dramatic arts. Since then, she has enjoyed performing in many productions throughout her community, including Legally Blonde, Anything Goes, and Seussical.
Laura is in disbelief that she has been lucky enough to find a role where she can combine her career in nutrition and physical activity with her passion for performing.
Devon Watson co-stars as “DJ Devy Watt” in the Midwest cast of the Jump with Jill show. To date, Devon has performed the show 240 times for 115,000 kids. Devon joined the Jump with Jill team after three years with an educational theater company where he toured the country and the world including Germany, Holland, Sweden, Japan, and Korea as a vocalist, percussionist and DJ.
Devon couldn’t be happier using his unique talents to instill healthy habits in kids!
